About Get Set for Community Action Get Set for Community Action was an exciting programme which empowered young people to make real changes within their community. Thousands of 14-19 year olds – ‘Action Leads’ – worked in teams across the UK, building relationships with local community groups to plan and deliver at least two projects each, in the run-up to the Rio 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Why should you volunteer? Volunteering helps you build great skills. For example: Leadership Organisation Communication Team work You can discuss your volunteering experience on your CV or UCAS application. It can also count towards many national awards and programmes such as DofE or Step Up to Serve. It’s great fun!
