SR1 extension follow up 27-Mar-17 Marco Ciapetti

Current status – taken decisions Last meeting on 13/03/2017 (Slides) Three barracks to be moved before June 2017 (50kW cooling plant moved where?) SMB works starting date: June 2017 EN-EL and IT-CS must remove all cables between the current SR1 wall and clean room wall before SMB install the temporary partitioning wall (before August 2017) SMB works target ending date: December 2017 - January 2018 (tbc) End of global work on SR1 extension (Clean room ready): July 2018 (tbc)

Current status – taken decisions EN-CV will switch off the air conditioning and ventilation for at least 6 months (schedule tbd) EN-EL will switch off the electricity for small periods of time  schedule tbd according to users’ schedule (see slides from last meeting) Due to the bad results of the air leakage test: Overpressure is reduced from 30 Pa to 15 Pa  no overpressure between clean room and radiation lab Another sealing campaign might be required after the cables removal. Offers have been requested to: ER2i (visit on 08/03/2017): ≈10 k€ STIC (visit on 14/08/2017): Waiting for the offer

Current status – taken decisions The clean room will be ISO 8 according to ISO 14644-1 All cable trays shall be covered  clean room extension firm shall schedule other interventions after the installation Total expected power consumption (Pixel/Strip integration, testing, standard activities): current one (25% of 630 kW) + 140 kW: 50 kW for CO2 cooling + 90 kW for HVAC(tbc depending on the AHU) + …Something else? Lightning will provide the same illumination that is currently in the actual clean room

Current status – taken decisions Number and position and type of sockets and switches: power socket distribution at every pillars + one every 3-4 meter against the wall 4-6 sockets (16 A) per distribution terminal with a local differential switch for the group 3 phase sockets with 380V with 32 A max power at each power distribution terminal Number and position of Ethernet inputs / wireless: Number of wireless access points: 2 (tbc) Ethernet points: 25 (One each electrical terminal) TOO MANY?

Current status On 24/04, Lukasz, Alex, Damien and Piotr discussed about barrack repositioning behind SR1 CO2 barrack should be positioned on the old transformer’s rails (close to rad lab wall) Chilled water for CO2 barrack coming from pipe extension for AHU (not from SR1) Primary chiller for 50kW CO2 cooling plant could be added in this area (tbd) A rough cost estimation for IT-CS works is not yet done Technical Description for Clean Room MS is done and under review Qualification questionnaire for Clean Room MS is on going Technical Specification for Clean Room Tender is in the pipeline

Things to be decided The extension of the changing room might present problems due to the present cable trays. The proposal is to extend it by ≈1m To be removed ≈1 m ≈1 m

Things to be decided Amount of cables and services (total cross section, distribution, etc.) Path for cables and services (along pillars or cable trays etc.) Length, frequency and schedule of power outage. A preliminary schedule for the users’ activity might be the following (tbc): Jun – Sep 2017: Setting up of system test stand (power needed even if few days of outage can be discussed, CO2 optional with movable smaller system) Oct – Nov 2017: Preparation of larger structure (power and C02 needed, days of outage can be discussed) Dec 2017 – Summer 2018 evaluation of larger structure (power and C02 needed)

Things to be decided Antistatic floor has been requested by the user. For the extension  no problem For the current clean room  very expensive. Can we use pads instead? Rails in the SR1 extension floor have been requested by the user. Mounted on top  no problem Embedded into the floor  more expensive (and might be not possible). Can be avoided? Is 500 kg/m2 still a reasonable value for the maximum load of the floor? Adding a new ceiling (≈1m lower wrt the current one) might be a good option for: reducing the air leakage, reducing the fresh air volume needed, routing the cable and services, etc. Is it a problem for the user?

Requirements Add a roller external door at the end to prevent the need to get the OC between pillars  What does it mean? Any other?

BACK UP SLIDES

Schedule preliminary DRAFT From TC (TBC): Jun 2017: SMB should start civil engineering works Ago 2017: EN-EL should remove all cables close to 1m from the SR1 roof (if any) Sep 2017: EN-EL and IT-CS should remove the cables running on the wall to be dismounted (in between the wall and the building wall) Oct 2017: SMB should install the temporary partition wall (1m from existing wall) Nov 2017: CV will stop the ventilation for 6 months (tbc) Dec 2017: target for ending civil engineering works (end of the month) Jan 2018: TC should start installing the internal clean room extension and EN-CV should start working on the HVAC system Mar 2018: target for ending clean room extension installation walls and ceiling Apr 2018: EN-EL, IT-CS should start working Jul 2018: target for commissioning the SR1 clean room extension
