Hosted Voice Product Training Panasonic Cordless TPG-600 Phone

Agenda Welcome to EarthLink’s instructional video on the Panasonic TPG-600 cordless phone. We will review: Pairing the handset to the base Making an Outbound Call Placing a call on Hold Answering Multiple Calls “Blind” Transfer Announced” Transfer Transfer – No Answer Conference Call Call Park In this training session, we will talk about the Polycom IP phones, the physical buttons and setting-up voicemail. We will talk about common phone features like hold, answering calls blind and announced transfer and conference call. Then, we will walk through enhanced phone features like Enhanced Call Park, Group Call Pick-up and contacts that can be added to the phone.  

Panasonic TPG – 600 Desk Phone The Panasonic TPG 600 desk phone can be paired with up to eight (8) additional cordless handsets. All the handsets will have the same phone number (by default). When the number is called, all the handsets will ring simultaneously

Pairing Handset to Base To pair the cordless handset to the base, please follow these steps: From the base, , press the “Handset Locator Button” on right hand side for 4 seconds Status light will blink red Display on cordless handset, will read “Register Unit” From the cordless handset, press “OK” and hold for 4 seconds Wait for registration to complete. When completed, you will see the correct date and time on the cordless handset Note: To verify the phone number, press the “line” button on the bottom left of cordless handset

Making a Call from the Desk Phone To make an outbound call from the desk phone, Dial the extension or 10 digit phone number of the person you wish to call. 2. Press the “Speaker Phone” button or lift the handset

Making a Call from the Cordless Handset To make an outbound call from the cordless handset, 1. Dial the extension or 10 digit phone number of the person you wish to call. 2. Press the “Green” button

Hold / Resume from the Desk Phone To Place the Caller on Hold from the desk phone: Press “Hold” button The customer will hear music while on hold (if applicable) To Resume with the Caller from the cordless handset: 1. Press “Hold” a 2nd time.

Answering Multiple Incoming Calls from the Desk Phone While talking to the 1st caller, you will hear a “call waiting beep” to indicate a second call is coming into the phone. Press “Answer” When “Answer” is pressed, the 1st call is automatically placed on hold & you are now connected to the 2nd incoming call To go back to 1st caller: Press the “Line” button Press “OK” If you disconnect with the 2nd caller, press the “Hold” button to resume with the 1st caller

Answering Multiple Incoming Calls from the Cordless Handset While talking to the 1st caller, you will hear a “call waiting beep” to indicate a second call is coming into the phone. Press “Answer” When “Answer” is pressed, the 1st call is automatically placed on hold & you are now connected to the 2nd incoming call To go back to 1st caller: Press the “Line” button Press “OK” If you disconnect with the 2nd caller, press the “Hold” button to resume with the 1st caller

There are two types of transfers to choose from: Blind Transfer– Incoming call is not announced. Announced Transfer – Incoming call is announced. To transfer a call, you have two choices. You can choose the Blind transfer. This transfers the call without announcing who is on the call to the other party. If you choose the Announced transfer, the caller is placed on hold, then dial the other party. When that party answers, announce who is on the call, then transfer the call to the other party. Note: Regardless of which type of transfer you choose, when you press the Transfer button, the original call is placed on hold automatically. You do not press the Hold button.

Blind Transfer from the Desk Phone To complete a “Blind” transfer from the Desk Phone: Press the “Blind” button. This will place the customer on hold automatically Enter the internal extension or 10 digit phone number you wish to transfer to then Press the “Call” button to complete the transfer. Note: If this option is chosen, you loose the ability to reconnect with the original caller

Announced Transfer from the Desk Phone To complete an “Announced” transfer from the desk phone: Press the “Transfer” button. This will place the customer on hold automatically Enter the internal extension or 10 digit phone number you wish to transfer to Press “Call” soft key When the other party answers, announce the call If they wish to accept the transfer, press the “Transfer” button to complete the transfer. Once you press the “Transfer” button, the call is instantly transferred to the other phone. The caller is live on the other phone.

This will place the customer on hold automatically Enter the internal extension or 10 digit phone number you wish to transfer to Press “Call” soft key When the other party answers, announce the call If they wish to accept the transfer, press the “Transfer” button to complete the transfer. Once you press the “Transfer” button, the call is instantly transferred to the other phone. The caller is live on the other phone.

What if the Caller Doesn’t Answer or Can’t Take the Call? If the caller doesn’t answer or can’t take the transferred call, from the desk phone: Press the “Cancel” twice to end the transfer process. You now have the option to: Take a message. Transfer the call to another party.

Conference Call from the Desk Phone Conference calls are limited to a maximum of 3 participants (yourself and two other callers) After Speaking with the 1st Party Press “Conf” button The 1st caller is automatically placed on hold Dial the number of the 2nd party you wish to conference with then Press “Call” soft key When other party answers, Press “Conf” (soft key) or button a 2nd time The Conference call is now initiated. All 3 parties are connected.

Conference Call from the Cordless Handset Conference calls are limited to a maximum of 3 participants (yourself and two other callers) After Speaking with the 1st Party Press “Func” button Arrow down to option 5 - “Conference” Press “OK” The 1st caller is automatically placed on hold Dial the number of the 2nd party you wish to conference with then Press “Call” soft key When other party answers, Press “Conf” (soft key) The Conference call is now initiated. All 3 parties are connected.

Call Park from the Desk Phone Call park is very similar to hold. The difference for EarthLink is, when hold is pressed, it is on hold only on the handset where hold was pressed. Call park gives you the ability to “park” (virtual hold) a call on an Orbit” (a place holder) and pick up the call at another handset using that “orbit” or place holder. To use this function, Press the “Transfer” button Dial *13 Press “Call” soft key Listen for the orbit (queue) number Press the “Transfer” button a 2nd time To Retrieve a Parked Call: Dial *14 and the orbit (place holder) number that you were told by the person who parked the call. Press “Call” soft key You will now be live with the person that was “Parked” For example to retrieve a call parked on orbit 1, you should dial *141

Call Park from the Cordless Handset Press the “Transfer” button Dial *13 Press “Call” soft key Listen for the orbit (queue) number Press the “Transfer” button a 2nd time To Retrieve a Parked Call: Dial *14 and the orbit (place holder) number that you were told by the person who parked the call. Press “Green” button You will now be live with the person that was “Parked” For example to retrieve a call parked on orbit 1, you should dial *141
