PWHS Choir Department! The Choir department is a fun opportunity to learn, sing, and to experience new things.

The Different Choirs and Extra Activities

Mixed Choir Mixed Choir is for all the incoming freshman. This Choir is to learn music in three to four part harmonies. During the year you will learn about breathe support, tone, and other techniques to help you progress as a singer.

Treble Choir Treble Choir is the choir for sophomore and junior girls. You polish your technique, gain experience, and learn how to sing in an all women's Choir.

Concert Choir Concert Choir is the highest level choir. You sing college level music in four to eight part harmony. It is comprised of Junior and Senior girls and Sophomore, Junior, and Senior guys.

Vocal Jazz Vocal Jazz is an ensemble you have to audition for. It is made up of eight guys and eight girls. This group is responsible for selecting their own music and planning events like the madrigal dinner. Vocal Jazz is an a capella group. This means there is no instrumental accompaniment The year is split in two types of music. The first half of the year is a madrigal dinner and the second half of the year is vocal jazz.

Mens Choir Men's Choir is an Extra curricular choir that meets Friday mornings before school. The best part is any age is welcome freshman to seniors. The men even have a ride share where seniors give rides to the freshman.

Women's VJ Women’s Vocal Jazz is an all women a capella group. This group is selected by audition. Those who are selected, sing a variety of jazz styles. They meet weekly after school on Tuesday.

Trips Every other year the choir and band alternate going on fun trips. To go on a choir trip you have to be in Concert Choir. These trips are a blast and a great way to experience music in a totally different setting. The choir has gone on many trips like to the Bahamas and Italy. Next year Concert Choir is going to New York! Here are some pictures of the choir’s last trip to Italy.
