Portal: iPad Upload – Process Overview www.uab.edu/GearUpAL Download the ToPDF app from the Apple APP store. Take your camera snapshots of documents to submit. When you have 2 or more photos that combine into 1 upload submission, use ToPDF to convert them to a PDF file. If you are only uploading a single photo you do not need to use this method. Store the PDF file on a cloud drive of your choice, for example the free Google Drive. Create a folder on your cloud drive with a name like Gear Up. From the portal submission screen, click on Browse Select the cloud drive and folder you used, and select the PDF file you saved in that folder. Click on Submit and your submission will be complete.

ToPDF: Main Screen www.uab.edu/GearUpAL Based on which accounts you have established and connected to on your iPad, you will see each option listed here.

ToPDF: Photo Select www.uab.edu/GearUpAL To Start; click on Photo

ToPDF: Select Photos www.uab.edu/GearUpAL 3 From your photos, click on two or more photos To convert to a PDF, if you are only uploading one Photo you can do that via the Gear Up Portal browse button and choose Photo Library. This option is only needed when you are uploading multiple photos and you do not want to upload them one at a time for the same document submission.

ToPDF: File Name www.uab.edu/GearUpAL The default name is not a good file name, please change the name to something more meaningful before uploading. Default Name Contact Update 10072016 Type a more meaningful Name

ToPDF: Cloud Upload www.uab.edu/GearUpAL Select the upload icon on the document, Click on Share/Document/Drive (your choice) 1 3 4 2 5 Choose any, all are free to setup (I use Google)

ToPDF: Upload www.uab.edu/GearUpAL It’s not a bad idea to create a specific folder to Hold these documents on the drive choice, here I show the Google Drive view 2 I created this Folder on my Google Drive 1

Portal: Browse www.uab.edu/GearUpAL Back on the Portal you can now upload the PDF file you stored on your Drive, here I am showing the Google Drive Note: you must first create a free Google account, the Google Drive comes free with the account. 5 4 billtest@gmail.com 1 3 2
