REVELATION 21:1-8 21 Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the old heaven and the old earth had disappeared. And the sea was also gone. 2 And I saw the holy city, the new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven like a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. 3 I heard a loud shout from the throne, saying, “Look, God’s home is now among his people! He will live with them, and they will be his people. God himself will be with them. 4 He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever.”

CONTINUED: 5 And the one sitting on the throne said, “Look, I am making everything new!” And then he said to me, “Write this down, for what I tell you is trustworthy and true.” 6 And he also said, “It is finished! I am the Alpha and the Omega—the Beginning and the End. To all who are thirsty I will give freely from the springs of the water of life. 7 All who are victorious will inherit all these blessings, and I will be their God, and they will be my children. 8 “But cowards, unbelievers, the corrupt, murderers, the immoral, those who practice witchcraft, idol worshipers, and all liars—their fate is in the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death.”

TWO PHRASES: 1. Passed away.

ROMANS 8:18 18 Yet what we suffer now is nothing compared to the glory he will reveal to us later.

ROMANS 8:22 22 For we know that all creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time.

1. The earth will pass away.

Ii peter 3:10 10 But the day of the Lord will come as unexpectedly as a thief. Then the heavens will pass away with a terrible noise, and the very elements themselves will disappear in fire, and the earth and everything on it will be found to deserve judgment.

2. The sea will pass away.

3. No more tears.

4. No more grief.

5. No more pain.

6. No more death.

TWO PLACES: 1. A lake.

TWO PLACES: 2. A city.

TWO PHRASES: 2. All things new.

II CORINTHIANS 5:17 17 This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!

II PETER 3:13 13 But we are looking forward to the new heavens and new earth he has promised, a world filled with God’s righteousness.

HEBREWS 11:10 10 Abraham was confidently looking forward to a city with eternal foundations, a city designed and built by God.

HEBREWS 11:16 16 But they were looking for a better place, a heavenly homeland. That is why God is not ashamed to be called their God, for he has prepared a city for them.

HEBREWS 13:14 14 For this world is not our permanent home; we are looking forward to a home yet to come.
