Proto-Planet Hypothesis

The San Francisco cable cars are the only mobile national monument. Fact: The San Francisco cable cars are the only mobile national monument.

Protoplanet Hypothesis: States that the solar system began 5 billion years ago as a huge cloud of dust and gas, called a nebula, which later condensed to form the sun and its eight planets.

The sun formed first from an explosion of a nearby supernova. It is said that out of all the material that made our solar system, 90% of it formed the SUN!

The planets formed when gravity caused dust particles to condense.

The proto-planets closest to the sun, known as the terrestrial planets, had their outer gases boiled away from the suns heat. Causing these planets to have rocky surfaces.

The 4 outer planets known as the Jovian planets were less affected by the suns heat. These planets retained their gases and have gasses surfaces.

As the smaller dust particles gathered into clumps As the smaller dust particles gathered into clumps. They were captured by the planets gravitational pull and orbit around these planets, these particles form the moons.

Some uncollected material remains even today as comets, meteoroids, and asteroids.

Formation of the Atmosphere, & Oceans

As the Earth formed, 3 factors caused the earth to get hot: 1 As the Earth formed, 3 factors caused the earth to get hot: 1. Meteorite bombardment 2. Compression 3. Radioactive Minerals

As the Earth heated, it separated into layers based on density As the Earth heated, it separated into layers based on density. As the Earth's core was melting, gases were released. These gases bubbled to the surface to form our early atmosphere.

Earth’s early atmosphere contained Sulfur, Carbon Dioxide, Methane and Ammonia.

As steam from inside the Earth was released it condensed into water and produced the oceans.
