How are the Constitution and Bill of Rights Similar and different?
The Three Branches of Government Legislative Executive Judicial Each has specific powers but check and balance each other
Legislative Branch Made up of Congress which is divided into: House of Representatives The Senate Main job is to write, debate and pass bills The president must sign the bill for it to become law. The president may also veto the bill and send it back to congress. The legislature can check the president by overriding his vetoes with a 2/3 majority vote. Executive Branch The President is the head of the Executive Branch. The branch is located in the White House_. The President carries out or executes laws. He may also suggest laws to the legislative Branch. The President has the power to veto any laws that he doesn’t agree with. The President appoints judges to the Supreme court. The President is the Commander in Chief of the United States Armed Forces.
Judicial Branch Number one job of the Judicial Branch is to make sure laws follow the Constitution. Includes federal courts, court of appeals, and the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court has nine judges. The Supreme Court is located in Washington DC
