Okay, what’s it going to cost Okay, what’s it going to cost? While we don’t know exactly what the 2018 expenses will be, we asked each participant in 2017 to pay: $420.00 For Williamsburg, everything is included in the price, except for souvenirs. For Boston, you will need to pay for an additional 3 meals and souvenirs. For both trips, we will be asking for a $100.00 deposit APRIL of 2018

Financially Preparing for the trip. We understand that our trip may present a hardship to some of our families if they were not informed that this is on the horizon. That is why we are sharing this information with our Dallastown families early. It is our hope that this early introduction will enable students to consider how their behavior impacts their participation as well as helping families to plan for the financial end of this Outbound experience. Financial assistance is available through an application process. If interested, please see Mr. Ellis in person, your 7th grade history teacher or guidance counselor.

PREPARE NOW This information is being shared with you as you enter the middle school so that you can focus on two important aspects that will give you the greatest chance to experience this outstanding adventure. 1> Start saving NOW. Get odd jobs like grass cutting, shoveling snow, etc. to help you pay for your trip. You may also consider asking for donations to your trip costs as a Birthday and/or Holiday gifts. 2> BEHAVE…

Who Gets to Go? At this point EVERYONE! However, we want to make a good name for Dallastown and will not take people who have trouble behaving. In order to be included YOU MUST… Finish 7th grade with at least a 65% in ALL your subjects NOT be placed in ISS for more than one incident during your 7th grade year NOT be placed in OSS at all during your 7th grade year Pass a Guidance / Administration review prior to going on the trip in October. AND continue with good behavior in 8th grade next year

For those who do not go… For Students who do NOT QUALIFY to attend this exciting Outbound experience, or who, by their own choice, decide not to go… You will have a modified school schedule on Thursday and Friday. (Classes will be combined for students not going ) This schedule will include many colonial activities so that you too can dive into this period of time in greater detail.

Officially, what is next? Work hard to maintain good grades. THINK BEFORE YOU ACT! – Your behavior is your ticket to participate.

ANY QUESTIONS? If your parents have general questions about the trip, they can be directed to any of the 8th Grade Social Studies Teachers.
