Real World Impact - Possibilities We ask the questions in order to begin to consider the possibilities of doing life in new and innovative ways. Q - What are some of the questions you would like to ask? What are some of the changes that you would like to see brought about by technology?

Real World Impact - Foundations Inclusion is the norm, not the exception. Applied Cognitive Technology – extends the foundational efforts established by AT (while still allowing for that niche market). Technology levels the playing field and is the best tool for ensuring self-determination and quality of life. In order to achieve a “real world impact” we have to operate from strong foundations

Declaration Implementation Grants (DIGS) 5 Awards @ $10,000.00 each. Proposals focused on promoting and furthering the Declaration thru: Advocacy, Education, and Legislation. Anticipate DIGS will be awarded on an annual basis. The DIGS are The Coleman Institute for Cognitive Disabilities first formalized effort to raise awareness for the Declaration and push for legislation in all 50 states.

“Technology in the Heartland: Ensuring Iowans experiencing disability are not left behind” Iowa Association Community Providers “Networking and Education for Declaration Adoption” Arc of Westchester “You, Me, and Technology: Spreading the Word” YAI “Digital Media Arts Education Lab” The Arc of the Capital Area “Advancing and Promoting the Rights of People with Cognitive Disabilities to Technology and Information Access in Philadelphia” The Arc of Philadelphia 2016 DIGS Recipients – The proposals cover the gamut from education, advocacy, legislation and next level skills acquisition. Recipients will be presenting preliminary reports at the 2016 conference and be available for discussions and networking.

#TechAccess4All Campaign The first dedicated “grassroots, guerilla marketing campaign” to raise awareness of the Declaration while extending ownership. Ideas?

It functions as a change agent. It puts communities in the driver’s seat, if that’s what they want. Anne Lamott quote: “Lighthouses don’t go running all over an island looking for boats to save; they just stand there shining.” – promotes possibilities.
