Patteson Lodge with Aylmerton Field Study Centre 16th -20th October 2017

Why are we going to Aylmerton? To undertake local field studies of the North Norfolk area To experience a contrasting locality To experience a range of new and challenging activities developing teamwork skills To develop socially and emotionally alongside peers, gaining in confidence and independence

Staffing Adults attending: Mr Johnston Mrs Waites Miss Marshall Mrs Broomhead Mrs Shreeve There are numerous staff at Patteson Lodge who are highly skilled and experienced in the different activities that we will be partaking in. They will accompany us on all of our activities and lead the children throughout the day. All staff at the centre and from Corby Glen are first aid trained.

Brief summary of the visit Depart from school 9am Have loads of fun!!! Return on Friday 1pm (Arrive at school 3:30 approx.) Only kidding… Runton beach, Cromer, twilight safari, team building activities, monster trail, storyteller, ten pin bowling, pirate day, marsh habitat, seal watching, Wiveton, DISCO…

Recommended kit list Comfortable walking shoes/trainers Wellington boots (in a named bag) Slippers or other indoor footwear (must be worn indoors) Substantial waterproof coat and trousers Hat, gloves and scarf Plenty of underwear Socks – several pairs (not trainer socks) Lightweight tops – at least 5 (for layering in cold weather) Warm jumpers / tops – at least 3 Trousers/ jogging bottoms – at least 4 (not jeans) Nightwear x2 Towels – 1 large & 1 hand towel ALL NAMED PLEASE

Recommended kit list cont’d Toiletries – toothbrush, toothpaste, soap/ face wash, shower gel/shampoo, hairbrush, flannel/sponge Small back pack – named (for carrying lunch) Water bottle – named Bin bag for dirty clothes Bin bag/carrier bag for wet clothes Packed lunch in disposable bag for first day only Disco Clothes – jeans can be worn Travel sickness pills in named envelope for home journey Torch Nice but not essential: Camera – named (disposable only) All items should be packed in a medium sized case or bag that your child can carry comfortably upstairs. The case must also fit underneath a normal bed as it would cause a fire hazard otherwise.

Forbidden list There are several items that are strictly forbidden on this trip. This is either for the safety and welfare of the children or to prevent personal or expensive items from getting lost or damaged. Any electrical items (consoles, phones, tablets etc.) Jewellery (except studs) - watches may be worn but should be waterproof (no fitbits) Aerosol canisters of any kind (they activate the fire alarms!) No fad items If a member of staff is made aware of such items they will be removed and held in a secure place for the remainder of the trip.
