Types of Scholarships Sparta Scholarship Application Local Scholarships National Scholarships College/University Scholarships

Sparta Scholarship Application One application form used to apply for many different scholarships Available online beginning January 9th Due to Student Services by February 10th Students will create an application packet for each scholarship they apply for

Sparta Scholarship Application Checklist (cover page of app) Application form (pages 1-2) Personal Statement (attach) Letter of Recommendation (from a community member or family friend who is not a Sparta School District employee)

Sparta Scholarship Application Make sure that you are eligible for each scholarship, check criteria page Some scholarships have additional criteria (essay, letter of rec, transcript, etc.) Read the instruction page Sign the application form Deadline: February 10th at 7:40 am

Local Scholarships Separate application required Updated weekly on the Spartan webpage May need an application, essay, and letters of recommendation Due dates vary by scholarship Check the listing often!

National or College Scholarships National scholarships Websites listed on school district website Fastweb.com, scholarships.com, etc. Make sure the site is reputable – never give out your personal information! College or University Scholarships Available on their website through financial aid office or alumni relations office Early due dates (apply now!)

Transcript Request Process Parchment.com Official transcript request to be delivered by mail to your house Cost = $1.70 per transcript. Unofficial transcript request to be emailed to yourself print it from that email Can also view it on your parchment account homepage

Tips for Receiving a Scholarship Apply for as many scholarships as you are eligible Follow the directions Make sure to turn it in at the correct place Meet the deadline If possible, type it. Proofread it. Have someone proofread it. Get your letters of recommendation ahead of time.
