STEM Session Program Session A: Accreditation (90 minutes) [Moderator: Xavier Michel] Session B: Integration of Education and Research (90 minutes) [Moderator: Mamadou Diallo

Session A: Presentations A.1. Oral presentations (10 min each) by four (4) Center Leaders of ACEs that (i) have gained international accreditation with HCERES (MITIC, and CETIC), CTI (2IE) or (ii) have initiated an international accreditation process with ABET (OAU).

Session A2: Breakout Sessions Breakout sessions (30 minutes) with three (3) groups of ACEs for more-in-depth discussion of the accreditation process. Education Quality Management: Teams, procedures, and actions that are set-up to continuously monitor, evaluate and improve the design, quality and delivery of ACE educational programs; Post Graduation Surveys and Reports: Team, procedures, and actions that are set-up to get information and data about the employment of ACE graduates; Student Guidance: Team, procedures, and actions that are set-up to guide students and help them get the best returns from their ACE educational and training programs.

Session A3: Oral Reports and Q&A Objective: compile and share “good” practices and suggestions for achieving international accreditation. Each group will provide a list of “good” practices and suggestions.

Session B: Presentations Oral presentations (40 minutes) by four (4) Center Leaders of ACEs (CEFOR, CCBAD, RWESCK and SMA).

Session B2: Breakout Sessions Breakout sessions (30 minutes) with three (3) groups of ACEs for more-in-depth discussion of the integration of research with education. How are you leveraging existing programs and resources at your institutions to develop and implement your ACE Ph.D. programs? What are some key challenges that your ACE is facing in recruiting students (national and regional) and research mentors for your Ph.D. programs. How are you using and/or leveraging ACE World Bank funding to advance the goals of your Ph.D. program(s).

Session B3: Oral Reports and Q&A Objective: compile and share “good” practices and suggestions for integration of research and education. Each group will provide a list of “good” practices and suggestions.
