Practice ALL sight words Mrs. Hall’s Popping Kindergarteners Week of October 3rd – 7th Sight Words Practice ALL sight words Writing Writing our names – We will practice only using a capital letter at the beginning of our names! Dictating stories with pictures Journal writings Writing upper and lowercase letters correctly Writing simple sentences. EX: I am four. I am Sarah. Fall Unit This week we will begin our unit on Fall. We will talk about the changes of the seasons, fall weather, and leaves changing colors in the fall. During the unit of study, we will make lots of different fall art. As an extension of our unit, you can talk about different activities that only happen during the fall season and talk about why fall might be your favorite season. Phonics/Reading We will continue focusing on letters this week. We will focus on the formation, sound, and neatness when writing them. We will also be talking about all letters and which sound each of them make. Please work on this at home. I am testing this week so please work on these skills at home with your child. OTHER SKILLS: Syllables. Blending syllables to form word Rhyming words Character, setting, author, and illustrator. Beginning Sounds

Your child should have mastered these skills the 1st 9 weeks Reminder: October 13th: Pumpkin Patch Field Trip October 14th: End of the 9 weeks October 20th: Report cards go home Family read night October 24th – 28th: Red Ribbon Week October 24th: 50th Day of School October 29th: Halloween Party Please let your child do their own homework. Please do not do it for them. The homework is great practice for the skills they need to master this 9 weeks. Show some arrow spirit on Fridays and wear arrow gear. Our Activity Schedule: Monday: Art Tuesday: Library Wednesday: Music Thursday: P.E. (Please wear tennis shoes!) Friday: P.E. (Please wear tennis shoes!) Math Writing numbers 0-10.
