Full-scale trial results to qualify optimized manufacturing plan for ITER Toroidal Field coil winding pack in Japan Dummy double-pancake (DP) winding was completed. Transfer of RP between dummy DP was completed. Heat treatment trial of dummy windings was carried out. DP winding Radial plate Elongation of heat-treated conductor was evaluated to be about 0.06% with scatter smaller than 0.01%. This enables highly accurate prediction of conductor elongation by heat treatment to determine the winding dimension. Conductor could be transferred into RP groove after turn insulation. Target tolerance of 0.01% in conductor length was achieved. These successful results allow JADA to start the first TF coil fabrication. 4 DP winding was completed and the 1st DP was successfully heat-treated.

Summary Full-scale trials are performed to qualify the optimized manufacturing plan of ITER TF coil WP manufacture in Japan. The major achievements and progress are as follows: High accuracy of winding to control conductor length with 0.01% was demonstrated. Heat treatment oven was developed with highly accurate temperature control and predict conductor elongation about 0.06%. Fabrication procedure of RP with highly accurate tolerances by machining and welding was developed. From these successful achievements, JADA started series production of TF coil. The present progress is as follows: 4 DP winding was completed and the 1st DP is heat treated. Machining of RP section for 10 RPs were completed.
