Outline What is metadata? What is metadata driven production? From theory to practice, National Accounts Concept harmonisation

Metadata Business Exchange Structures Concepts What information should be collected /downloaded or recorded/delivered to whom, how, when, through what channel, how often? The structure of the statistical program, what should executed, in what way and with which IT support Business Exchange Structures Concepts Definitions of the statistical content. Variables, the value domains, classifications, unit types and populations. Describes the data structure for different data sets and different types of documentation.

Internal structure - statistical program Statistical program cycle Statistical Support Program Business Process (Collect) Business Process (Process/Analyse) Business Process (Dissemination) Business Process (Evaluate) Specify needs. Design and plan. Build and test. Collect. Parts of Process (coding, mikro editing). The restof Process (impute, completing, weighing) Analyse Disseminate and communicate Evaluate and feedback Customer needs are identified, the design completed, the production system created and tested Collected, coded and edited microdata Establish final observation register Edited and disclosure controlled of aggregate values and proposed dissemmination Disseminated and communicated results Action plan for the product improvement proposals outside the product

Driving and feeding the processes input Transformable input Data to be refined by the process Process Support input Affects what the process step executes and thereby affects the resultSuch as background information, valuedomains Parameter input Can control what configurationthat should be used Such as minimum, maximum, threshold value process output Transformed output Data that has been refined by the process Process Execution Log Captures what happens when the process step is executed. The events that are captured are independent of tha current process step. Such as Error messages or the time it took to complete the process step. Process metric Captures process data relating to the quality or methodological aspects of the process steps that are performed during the execution. For example. a measure of how many records are used, how many values were imputed or seasonally adjusted.
