In part two, you will have the opportunity to apply the learning to a service of your choosing. Forum Poster Template (2012) Brief outline of context Brief outline of problem Assessment of problem and analysis of its causes Strategy for change Measurement of improvement Effects of changes Lessons learnt Message for others Abstract submissions for the International Forum

Poster Template Example Chris Hancock example as a shared desk top examples – template it’s too big for slides. Abstract submissions for the International Forum

Criteria for an ideal abstract Clear assessment and presentation of the issue Evidence of improvement shown Effects of changes described Useful learning messages for others Abstract submissions for the International Forum

Issues that will alert reviewers No statement of problem No clear client or staff group described Little evidence of communicating to those affected No clear evidence of change No clarity about who was involved in the change No final message Abstract submissions for the International Forum

Tips for Success! Abstract submissions for the International Forum Universal Tips: Follow the guidance explicitly. Link your proposal to the main overarching theme(s) Is it of interest nationally? Consider who your intended audience is and be clear about this. Speakers proposals tips: Have established credibility with IHI/The Health Foundation Be able to articulate how your work differs from “the rest” What makes it stand out,  what’s your unique selling point? Be innovative - is it original, innovative, quirky? Do you have best in class results? Does it cover a high profile topic? Where possible make joint submissions with other nations/organisations.
