Spanish Spanish is once a week on Fridays. This is a graded subject. We are very excited to announce that we had a real live human Spanish teacher – Senora Roman.

Grading The report card is very similar to the third grade report card. The major difference is that number grades will be used for all four marking periods. All grades will also be online this year. You can see up-to-date grades on Genesis.

Grading This year, as in the past, grades will be weighted as follows: Tests will count for 40% Quizzes will count for 25% Projects will count for 25% Homework will count for 10%

Homework Should usually be no longer than 30-45 minutes daily, not including IRLA. If it is consistently taking longer, please send me an email or a note. I stress using time wisely for homework. There will be both long term and short term assignments this year. Make sure your child always brings their IRLA bag to school. All homework will be posted on my website, but please also check your child’s assignment book daily.

Snacks There will be a working snack time in the morning. According to district policy, daily snacks are only permitted if they are completely nut free (nuts include peanuts; tree nuts and nut-by-products) and manufactured in a facility that DOES NOT process nuts. Please send your child with a healthy snack. Fruit, carrots, celery, pretzels, granola bars without nuts, crackers, and pretzels are good options. Children should only bring snacks that they can hold in their hand. Ready-to-eat meals such as Lunchables should be saved for lunch time.
