UNIVERSITY POLICIES Two important University policies governing student conduct – behaviorally and academically

University Policies Code of Student Responsibility - University Policy 406 - Applies to every student who has accepted admission - Governs student behavioral conduct inside and outside of classroom - Can be applied to off campus behavior - Overseen by Office of Student Conduct - Behaviors reported via online submission: * incidentreport.uncc.edu * by University Police, faculty, staff, other students - Attorney/Non-Attorney Advocate rights - Records protected by FERPA Behavior within classroom can be addressed through Code of SR, depending on TYPE of behavior At the very least, we reserve the right to have an “educational conversation” with a student if their behavior does not rise to the level of a Code of SR violation Conduct violations can be adjudicated by a single administrator, or by SGA Judicial Board, or Administrative Hearing Panel Conduct records are covered by the Federal Educational Rights and Privacy Act which protects the student’s educational records unless:

University Policies Code of Academic Integrity - University Policy 407 - Governs academic coursework - Overseen by Academic Affairs *Bruce Long, Chair of Academic Integrity Board - Record keeping maintained by Dean of Students Office (DSO) *faculty contact DSO to inquire about priors - Adjudication options: * Settlement Form * Academic Integrity Board - Submitting faculty member does have an educational need to know the outcome of the AIB due to the nature of the student-faculty relationship as it pertains to grading
