Lcap/spsa school Goal #4 2015-16 School Year Provide meaningful opportunities for parents families and the community to engage as equal partners in promoting student achievement Recognize talents, skills and contributions within the community as valuable resources Parents, families and community can offer and promote children’s educational development

LCAP/SPSA Input In gathering input for the LCAP/SPSA from the School Site Council (SSC) and the English Language Advisory Committee (ELAC) the following suggestions where presented: Extra support for students in Math Parents need assistance/guidance for how to help their children with Math homework More options for after school programs English Language Advisory Committee and School Site Council 2014-15

Actions to Reach Goal Regular communication through school newsletters and school website Translate all school newsletters (Spanish) and other written communication when possible Establish parent volunteer opportunities included but not limited to Art Vista, Garden Committee, HSC sponsored events, after school programs, and assisting in the classroom Provide two-way communication through parent participation at SSC, HSC, ELAC, Principal Coffees Conduct a survey to gather input from parents and community members

Next Steps: Develop recruitment strategies to increase parent volunteers for Home and School Club events Continue to expand home school communication in multiple languages Conduct a comprehensive annual survey to garner input from parents and community members Increase parent representation English Language Advisory Committee, School Site Council, Principal Coffees, and District Advisory Committees Use sign in sheets as a baseline to determine increase in participation
