Encyclopedia Virginia Lesson Plans Created by Graduate Students Old Dominion University Presenters: Kathy Lehman, Karen Perry, and Matthew Gibson with students in LIBS 676: Library Media Services and the Curriculum

What is Encyclopedia Virginia? Matthew gives overview of the web site. Add slides or use the title link to go live and click on features.

Lesson Plan Template Karen Perry explains how we designed the template beginning with samples from Ency VA . Live link to the template in title. Then introduces first student, Kristina Jameson Jones.

Native Americans by Kristina Jones Essential Question: What was life like for Early Virginia Indians? Enduring Understanding: Early Virginia Indians had a culture of their own. Reconstruction Nicole Hagermann 11th Grade US and Virginia History Essential Question: What were the consequences of the war and Reconstruction? Enduring Understanding: The Civil War and Reconstruction resulted in Southern resentment toward the North and Southern African Americans, and ultimately political, economic, and social control of the South returned to whites.
