Accomplishments 2006 Global AIM Congress AIXM 5 Global recognition that aeronautical information management is a key to global air traffic management Adoption of several key principles… Recommend adoption of AIXM AIXM 5 February 2006 AIXM Design Review November 2006 AIXM 5 Release Candidate 1 December 2006 AIXM web site www.aixm.aero January 2007 AIXM Forum at www.aixm.aero One year ago we came to you with the 2006 AIXM Design Review. A lot has changed since that last meeting – a lot has occurred. Perhaps most significant was the 2006 Global AIM Congress held in Madrid Spain boasting more than 500 attendees from 80 countries. The Global congress recognized that aeronautical information management is key towards global air traffic management. Among the key principles, the delegates recommended the adoption of AIXM. Since the Congress, the AIXM team has finalized AIXM 5 by releasing a series of design documents, proposals and the AIXM 5 Release Candidate 1 model. The work began in February 2006 at the Design Review. Following your recommendations and endorsements we released AIXM 5 Release Candidate 1 in November 2006. Closely following the release we fully deployed our AIXM web site (www.aixm.aero) including the newly released AIXM Forum.

Purpose Last year we introduced you to AIXM 5 This year we want to show you how AIXM 5 works Implementation Concepts of Operations Trials and Experiments Integrating AIXM into Aeronautical Information Management Reconnect with the AIM community With the past 12 months of hard work behind us, what is the purpose of this two day meeting? Last year the focus was on introducing the global AIM Community to AIXM 5 – its design principles and approach. This year, we want to show you how AIXM 5 will enable global AIM modernization. We will do this by discussing AIXM 5: Implementations Concepts for operating in a digital AIM environment The results and plans for trials and experiments showing how AIXM enables global AIM Strategies for integrating AIXM into Aeronautical Information Management. Finally we are holding this meeting to reconnect with you, the AIM community. We request your feedback, questions and ideas.

A Global Commitment… Your presence here today shows a global commitment to making AIXM a success. AIXM can only be a global standard for aeronautical information with your help. Your presence here today shows a global commitment to making AIXM a success.
