LESSON #1:

We all know that people PHYSICALLY look different, act different and have different talents, meaning they can do many different things.

Part of getting to know who you are means identifying how you are different or unique from others.

We tend to spend a lot of time trying to “fit in” or “be like others” that we don’t realize that being different is actually a good thing!

SO THINK…. HOW ARE YOU DIFFERENT. WHAT SETS YOU APART FROM OTHERS SO THINK…..HOW ARE YOU DIFFERENT? WHAT SETS YOU APART FROM OTHERS? WHAT MAKES YOU UNIQUE?

First think about how you are different from your family members First think about how you are different from your family members? Have you taken after you mom, dad, grandma/pa, aunt, uncle etc.?!

How are you different from your siblings?

LET’S LIST ALL THE WAYS PEOPLE ARE DIFFERENT! Physical Social Emotional Intellectual

PHYSICALLY How you look What you can do How you grow

socially How you talk/ relate to other people Seeing things from others’ points of view How you make friends

EMOTIONALLY How you show emotion How you can CONTROL your emotions Your ability to deal with negativity and move on in a positive way

INTELLECTUALLY ( THINKING) How you learn things How you are able to think about things How you understand new information How you are able to explain things What type of LEARNER you are

THESE ALL MAKE UP YOUR PERSONALITY and your CHARACTER TRAITS

(Inner traits or moral qualities) CHARACTER TRAITS (Inner traits or moral qualities) Self- discipline Dependability Responsibility Integrity – honesty Motivation Mercy & Justice – concern for others & rights
