Core C: Specific Aims – Data Management AIM 1: Provide and maintain quality protocol and data management for projects affiliated with the Wisconsin ADRC AIM 2: Work with the NACC to create a smooth and efficient exchange of data and to collaborate with other ADCs and AD researchers
Core C: Specific Aims – Statistical Collaboration AIM 3: Create a smooth and efficient exchange of data and collaborate with other ADCs and AD researchers
Data Management Systems Integrating: Data collection Data storage Cataloguing Neuroimaging data storage Tracking and Scheduling REGGIE OnCore CTMS Data Consent Tracking EHR Billing REDCap NACC Data Panda NeuroImage Repository Metadata Jira Data Requests Audit Trail
Data Management Accomplishments Innovation REGGIE has been moved to Dept. of Medicine to enhance local control, flexibility: Improvements underway Communication between different database systems Report creation capabilities REDCap to help track and follow other administrative functions: Consult tracking Simplified Data request process
Data Management Accomplishments Innovation Cont. New REDCap based statistical consultation and collaboration tracking system
Data Management Accomplishments Expanded Partnerships Coordinated UDS 3.0/REDCap implementation team University of Kansas Medical Center, Boston University, Emory, UC-Irvine, Washington University Subsequent work under consideration: Standardization and sharing of data quality rules Shared work on data export routines to NACC Adoption Guide for other ADRC’s Implementation Guide for moving to a paperless data entry system
Data Management Accomplishments Mentoring Provide staff training in REGGIE REDCap, and OnCore Consultation with Neuropathology Core on LIMS software system. Confidentiality The REGGIE, OnCore, REDCap, JIRA and PANDA systems have configurable security and access control to address HIPPA requirements. Unique user ID’s, encryption, secure use log-in, password rules, and audit trails have been configured by the DMSC to access the database.

Statistical Accomplishments Statistical Collaboration Interface effectively with other Cores to help achieve our overall mission. Over twenty-five collaborative publications in the last two years in: Clinical trials Longitudinal data analysis Spatial statistics Biomarkers Machine learning Mentoring of students Formalization of continuing education program
Statistical Accomplishments Examples of Mentoring and Innovation Longitudinal Analysis (Dowling): collaboration with (H. Chang, D. Tatsuoka) and Ph.D. student (S. Deng) on “Biomarker Heterogeneity and its Association with a Novel Alzheimer’s Disease Severity Factor” with a presentation at a national conference and a paper currently under review. Integrative Data Analysis in Aging Research: An Application of New Approaches to ADNI and ROS data (Dowling): collaboration with E. Hamacker and students. paper currently under review.
Statistical Accomplishments Examples of Mentoring and Innovation Longitudinal Analyses (Chappell): Collaboration with C. Gleason, post-doc (B. Fischer), and Stat. Ph.D. student as part of training grant rotation (R Bacher), “Neuro-mechanistic examination of gait in individuals with cognitive impairment” (submitted to J Int Neuropsych Soc). Collaboration with L. Clark, S. Johnson, others, “Beta-amyloid and cognitive decline in late middle age: Findings from the WRAP study” (to appear in Alz & Dem).
Statistical Accomplishments Examples of Mentoring (Chappell): Co-advisor for B. Wendelberger (Committee Ph.D., for her thesis on structural connectivity modeling in functional MRI with an application to falls. Mentoring many ADRC students and post-docs. Local Outreach: Initiating series of formal didactic talks (3 in Fall 2016) on clinical research, joint with ICTR. National Outreach: Initiating series (?) of workshops at ADC meetings on clinical research.
Future Goals Further development and rollout of the Booked scheduling system Further development of a statistical collaboration request system/research progress Support and guidance for the move to a paperless data entry system. Further mentoring and outreach.
