Ms. Perkins’ Class Computer Essentials Class Procedures

Bellringer for Monday, August 19 Using a Post-It from the pad on your desk, make a list of 5 things about you Ex: 1. I like to play baseball. 2. My favorite college team is FSU. 3. I have a dog named Rex. 4. 5.

Bellringer for Tuesday, August 20 Complete the Interest Inventory Sheet

Bellringer for Wednesday, August 21 Make a list of 10 numbers that represent something about you and explain why. Example: 11- The number of months old my son Barrett is today! 

Bellringer for Thursday, August 22 “Scientific Summer” Write about what you did this summer and explain how it was scientific (related to science).

Bellringer for Friday, August 23 Make a list of 5 observations from this week.

When You Enter the Room… Come in quietly & sit in your assigned chair at your assigned computer. Login to your computer. Go to http://perkycomputers.weebly.com Go to Blog and find today’s Blog Assignment Copy today’s Blog Assignment Go to www.weebly.com and login to your website. Create a new blog entry entitled “Blog Assignment # ___”. Be sure to paste the Blog Assignment instructions and answer it.

Warm-Up/Bellringer Assignments Blog Assignments will be posted on Ms. Perkins’ website (on her Blog) daily Blog Assignment must be copied, pasted, & answered onto a new blog entry on your website Blog Assignments will be added together for a weekly daily grade.

Turning in Work The color-coded trays in the back corner of the room (under the clownfish) 1st Period- Red 2nd Period-Orange 4th Period- Green 5th Period- Purple 6th Period-Blue

Homeroom/1st Period Only If you are not in the room, seated in your chair by the 7:30 bell, you will be counted tardy. Take down your stick from the “I’m Not Here” closet door and place it in the bucket. Go to your locker. Put away your belongings and get out all necessary materials. You will not be allowed to return to your locker until the next Locker Break.

Locker Breaks These are the ONLY times you will be allowed to go to your locker: Before Homeroom After 2nd Period After 4th Period

Bathroom & Water Fountain You have to manage your time and go between classes. (Hint: pick the classes that are closest together so you have time) Remember: No teachers will be taking their class to the bathroom or writing bathroom passes.

Questions? Need help? Use the cups on top of your CPU! Switch the cups from BLUE on top to RED on top to let me know I will come check with you ASAP. In the meantime, keep working! 

Dimissal Give Me Five! Save your work, exit the programs, & logoff Put your headphones & flash drive away Straighten your keyboard & mouse Gather your materials & trash Push in your chair & wait to be dismissed

If you finish your work early… Read. Work on your website. Study. Work on your HW for other classes.

Trash Should be thrown away before or after class.

Seats & Computers Will be assigned by teacher Will change monthly or every 9 weeks Can be moved if necessary Teacher can change you anytime it is necessary All work is independent unless instructed to do otherwise.

Plan for Week Lists what we will be doing in class each day Should be copied down in your planner Tests, quizzes, & projects are listed

Exit Slip Quick 5 minute or less assignment at the end of class Turned in to teacher as you leave the room Be sure to write your name on it!

Give Me 5 Teacher will say “give me 5” and raise her hand when she needs the class to get quiet and focus their attention Students should stop talking, open their ears, and raise their hand to let the teacher know they are ready to move forward
