Who is my teacher? I am Mrs. Shannon McElwee. I graduated from Cedartown High School. This is my 19th year teaching; 12th at CHS. I have a degree from Berry College in chemistry and biology. I attended Emory School of Medicine in Immunology and Molecular Pathology. I have education degrees from JSU and West GA. I am married and have 3 beautiful daughters.

What is chemistry? Chemistry is the study of matter and energy. Official definition: The study of the composition, structure, and properties of matter, the processes that matter undergoes, and the energy changes that accompany these processes.

What do I need for my chemistry class? A 3 ring binder (or a section in a binder) Loose leaf paper Pens and pencils (not red) A scientific calculator Your ipad, charger, and earbuds.

What is human anatomy and physiology? In anatomy and physiology, we will explore how our bodies are put together and how they work. Anatomy is the study of the structure and shape of the body and its parts and their relationships to one another. Physiology is the study of the body and how its parts work or function. We will explore clinical terminology, the structure and function of all of the body systems, reproduction, human development, and genetics. Yes, we will dissect.
