ST. JOSEPH PARISH FAMILY FAITH PROGRAM 2016-17 WELCOME!! ST. JOSEPH PARISH FAMILY FAITH PROGRAM 2016-17

Why Family Faith? Domestic Church Baptismal Vows Faith grows from within the family Children learn from example God as the center

What is Family Faith NOT? A classroom A source of added STRESS A chore Just another thing we need to do…

How does Family Faith work? Monthly Family Faith Session @ church Weekly discussion/faith enrichment & activities at Home Different activities for different ages All linked to the Gospel for the week

What do parents need to do? Commit to a weekly time to sit down as a family to discuss topic of the week Take some time to preview the materials for the week Gather any necessary supplies for activities (ie: crayons, scissors, glue) Light a candle before you begin – this reminds us that Jesus is present Bring your family to Church – all together if possible – this is the CENTER of our faith

Family Liturgies Every Sunday at 10:00 Mass There is a Children’s Choir The Homily is geared toward the kids Monthly we will highlight one grade – and have a coffee and… reception to follow (October 16th is Grade 4!) Grade Masses will have kids from that grade involved in the Liturgy – in age-appropriate ways

Parish as a Family Communication – we want to know your joys, your struggles – we’re here to help Community – we want EVERYONE to find their place here – through spending time here – find YOUR ministry Many hands make light work Find the amount to give – time, talent & treasure – that is right for your family We set the example that our children will follow

Where can we get involved? Usher/Greeter Lector ALTAR SERVER! Eucharistic Minister In Church Homebound/Wingate St. Vincent de Paul Society Mater Dei Group Parish Food Tasting Festival Baptism Ministry Music Ministry
