Dolch Words– list 4 (pink)

Pretend to hold two objects, one in each hand “BEFORE. You must ea vegetables BEFORE you eat sweets.”

Make circular motions in front of you. “AROUND, Walk AROUND the chair.”

Point to child. “YOUR. This is YOUR toy.”

Pound with a pretend hammer. “WORK. I’m going to WORK on this.”

Raise your arms up with palms out. “WHY. WHY did you spread your bubble gum on us?”

Look from side to side with elbows out as though you are with two others. “US. Go with US!”

Cup hand around mouth. “TELL. She will TELL us everything.”

Put hand on chest and speak with mouth open wide as though singing. “SING. The man will SING now.”

Make a book with your hands, palms up. “READ. Let me READ this book to you.”

Grasp an imaginary rope and lean back as though pulling. “PULL. PULL hard on the rope!”

Motion in an arc around the front of you. “MANY. There are too MANY inchworms here!”

Mimic receiving something from someone. “GAVE. She GAVE me a present.”

With palm open sideways, streak it across in front of you. “FAST. They went by so FAST!”

Do a little squat as though you are going to sit down. “SIT. I will SIT on this pillow!”

Tap chin as you look up as though pondering a choice. “OR. Should I pick the teddy bear OR the rocket?”

With hand to side of head, tilt head as though on telephone. “CALL. I’ve got to make a CALL.”
