Coveting occurs when we want wrong things.

Coveting occurs when we want right things for the wrong reasons.

Coveting occurs when we want right things at the wrong time.

Coveting occurs when we want right things in the wrong amounts.

“People spend money that they do not have, to buy things that they do not need, to impress people they do not even like.” ~Will Rogers

Exodus 20:17 “You shall not covet your neighbor’s house. You shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, or his male or female servant, his ox or donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbor.”

Coveting is a craving-a desire- that causes us to fixate on a possession, a person, property or even a position that we cannot live without.

Coveting increases our desires while it ignores the dangers.

The root of coveting is rejecting God’s provisions.

Do you want ____________?

“So sinful is the human heart, that it is prone to forget God’s blessings, ignore God’s promises, and find fault with God’s provisions.” ~ Warren Wiersbe

Beware of submitting to coveting anything Beware of submitting to coveting anything. In time, you may loathe the very thing that you thought you could not live without.

“One of the consequences of covetousness is that it destroys our capacity to discern sufficiency; enough is never enough!” ~ Pastor James MacDonald
