BEHAVIOR CHANGE DRIVING SIGNIFICANT PREDICTORS OF MEDICATION ADHERENCE   Personal connection with pharmacy Continuity with care provider   Age Importance of taking as prescribed   Leverage the voice of authority. A generic reminder saying that your prescription is overdue does NOT have the same impact as a message from the community pharmacist whose voice is: recognizable and can deliver a sense of emotion and concern. This ties into the Principle of Authority. Studies show that people are more likely to comply with a request when it comes from an expert. That means you’re more likely to make a change in your eating habits, medication adherence, or even begin an exercise program if comes from someone like a Pharmacist who is perceived to be an expert in the health field. Note: People have more access than ever before to information. However, the internet and digital media “overloads” people with conflicting information and different opinions. People instead prefer to get information from a perceived expert who they trust has gone through the proper research and investigation channels to learn the correct information on their expertise field. Asthma or other lung conditions Informed about own health   Ease of affording Rx Rx causes side effects
