Intelligent building system EIB IP-Gateway

IP-Gateway IG/S 1.1 MDRC, 6 modules wide Supply with 230 V AC and / or 12 V DC (backup) 10 MBit Ethernet connection (RJ45) Additional function: Programming of EIB devices over LAN with the iETS client of the ETS (from ETS2 V1.3 on)

IP-Gateway IG/S 1.1 Converts EIB telegrams in IP-telegrams and vice versa Ethernet IG/S IG/S EIB

IP-Gateway IG/S 1.1 Advantages Usage as area- or line coupler The IG/S can be used as an area- or line coupler. Thereby the local network (LAN) is used as a fast arealine (backbone). Higher data transfer rate By using the LAN as a backbone a higher data transfer rate is possible (10 MBit <-> 9,6 kBit).

IP-Gateway IG/S 1.1 As an area coupler IG/S LK BK G 1.0.0 2.0.0 G = EIB device LK = Line coupler Main line 1 (9,6kBit) Main line 2 Ethernet (10 MBit) 1.0.0 2.0.0 With IG/S as area coupler up to 15 IG/S per ETS project are possible

IP-Gateway IG/S 1.1 As a line coupler BK G IG/S Ethernet (10 MBit) IG/S 1.1.0 1.2.0 1.3.0 G = EIB device With IG/S as line coupler 15x15=225 IG/S per ETS project are possible

IP-Gateway IG/S 1.1 Combination area- / line coupler IG/S LK BK G Main ine 1 Ethernet 1.0.0 2.1.0 G = EIB device LK = Line coupler

IP-Gateway IG/S 1.1 Router Building B Building A Hub/Switch Hub/Switch LAN/WAN/VPN EIB Line 1 EIB Line 2 EIB Line 3 EIB Line 4 EIB Line 5 EIB Line 6 The ROUTER must be configured by the administrator, that it transmits the multicast telegrams sent by the IG/S !

IP-Gateway IG/S 1.1 More advantages Easier interfaces Visualisation and other PC applications can easier get data from EIB devices. They can listen to the telegrams on the LAN (-> OPC). They don´t need EIB interfaces themselves. Open for the future A lot of devices in the household and in the office today already have Ethernet connections. With an IG/S the EIB is open for communication to other systems and devices.

OPC server (1x per installation) OPC client 1 (e.g. visualisation) IP-Gateway IG/S 1.1 With OPC Server OPC server (1x per installation) OPC client 1 (e.g. visualisation) The OPC server is a software. If necessary it can be installed on the same PC, which runs the client (e.g. visualisation). The OPC client(s) send and receive data only to/from the OPC server. They „don‘t know“ EIB telegrams. The OPC server gets all data from the IG/S and converts them into OPC objects. Hub/Switch OPC client 2 EIB Line 1 EIB Line 2 EIB Line 100
