So Solomon finished the Lord’s temple and the royal palace. Everything that had entered Solomon’s

Then the Lord appeared to Solomon at night and said to him: I have heard your prayer and have chosen this place for Myself as a temple of sacrifice. on My people, and My people who are called by My name humble themselves, pray and seek My face, and turn from their evil ways, then I will hear from heaven, forgive their sin, and heal their land. My eyes will now be open and My ears attentive to prayer from this place.”

1. PRIDE HINDERS GENUINE REVIVAL.

A. God hates pride Proverbs 6:16-19 “The Lord hates six things; in fact, seven are detestable to Him: arrogant eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that plots wicked schemes, feet eager to run to evil, a lying witness who gives false testimony,

2. Pride brings shame Proverbs 11:2 “When pride comes, disgrace follows, but with humility comes wisdom.” 3. Pride leaves little hope Proverbs 26:12 “Do you see a man who is wise in his own eyes? There is more hope for a fool than for him.”

4. Pride will cause you to forget God Psalm 10:4 “In all his scheming, the wicked arrogantly thinks: There is no accountability, since God does not exist.” James 4:13-16 “Come now, you who say, Today or tomorrow we will travel to

such and such a city and spend a year there and do business and make a profit. You don’t even know what tomorrow will bring—what your life will be! For you are like smoke that appears for a little while, then vanishes. Instead, you should say, If the Lord wills, we will live and do this or that. But as it is, you boast in your

arrogance. All such boasting is evil.”

2. RESULTS OF HEARTFELT HUMILITY.

A. God’s grace Proverbs 3:33-34 “The Lord’s curse is on the household of the wicked, but He blesses the home of the righteous; He mocks those who mock, but gives grace to the humble.”

B. God’s forgiveness Proverbs 28:13-14 “The one who conceals his sins will not prosper, but whoever confesses and renounces them will find mercy. Happy is the one who is always reverent, but one who hardens his heart falls into trouble.”

C. God’s blessing I Peter 5:5-7 “And all of you clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble. Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God, so that He may exalt you at the proper time. Casting all your care on Him, because He cares about you.”

3. WHAT WILL YOU DO ABOUT YOUR OWN PRIDE AND HUMILITY?
