Types of salads Salad as an appetizer Consists of different fresh vegetables (tomatoes, cucumbers, black or red onions, green onions, paprika), lettuce or cabbage, parsley or celery, black olives. It is dressed with olive oil, mayonnaise or sour cream. Salad as a side dish Consists of different vegetables, usually served as a garnish for any dish. Salad as a main course It is usually a combination of cold meat, fish or poultry, macaroni and is served with a variety of vegetables, fruits or dairy products. Salad as a dessert It is made by different fruit (melon, tropical fruit, berries, oranges, kiwis, bananas).
