Jasa.kg - Krygyzstan 2011 – 2015 International Youth Foundation implements & USAID funds ($4.2M) Mission: improving youth’s employability through skill development and increased civic engagement Objectives: prepare youth for the labour market foster active citizenship create a culture of positive youth development supply orphans with vital life skills

Jasa.kg - Krygyzstan Adina Bazarbaeva, with other volunteers, repairs and reconstructs summer camp cottages at a residential institution for young orphans. Credit: International Youth Foundation

Jasa.kg - Krygyzstan 900 youth have received comprehensive entrepreneurship training 29 youth have earned vouchers to start their own business 21 youth have benefited from mentorships 882 youth have undergone training to increase employment related skills 184 have secured internship placements 1,267 disadvantaged youth have received life skills training with a focus on social adaptability

Prospects for Youth - Krygyzstan 2016 – present: implemented by GIZ (Germany) Aim: provide expert support to state organizations in order to strengthen interdepartmental dialogue on improving the economic and social participation of young people in society

Prospects for Youth - Krygyzstan Photo Credit: AsiaNews Aim: support local governments and local youth NGOs in their joint development of youth development strategies and implementation of activities and measures for youth development. Progress: parliaments in 4 municipalities have passed 3 year strategies, and funded them each year. Future: develop youth strategies in 20 municipalities

Prospects for Youth - Krygyzstan Aim: support training on youth support, youth strategies, youth rights, leadership, social and business entrepreneurship, fundraising and other topics. Progress: trained 63 youth leaders, and 42 youth specialists Future: train 100 youth leaders per year 180 state & municipal employees in youth policy Many teachers

Prospects for Youth - Krygyzstan Achievements: 20 or so partner municipalities now either have their own youth work budget, or are allocating more of their municipal budget to activities for young people. Trained youth officers are developing programmes in career guidance and employment. One youth centre is now providing a meeting place for ten local youth organisations TV channel for young people began broadcasting from a youth centre, serving 57 communities A youth organization renovated an old cultural centre with support from the municipality. It now offers rooms for events and services such as a passport photo studio, which generates revenue for the youth organisation

Youth Corps Programme - Kazakhstan World Bank funding $22M 2016-17 Mission: to promote young people's community engagement and life skills through a community-based service learning program, especially for vulnerable youth

Youth Corps Programme - Kazakhstan subproject grants and subsistence stipends for community-based service learning life skills development and project management training outreach to vulnerable young people support institutional development of the committee on youth affairs for youth policy implementation.
