Lesson 1- What is a Landmark? Lesson Plan Grade 2nd Materials My New York by Kathy Jakobsen S.S. Notebook Materials for Landmark books Podcast-Do Now Objectives: Students will be able to define a landmark. Students will be able to identify various landmarks in NYC. Students will begin to create a Famous Landmarks book that they will add to throughout the year.

Lesson 2- Statue of Liberty Lesson Plan Grade Level 2nd Materials: The Story of the Statue of Liberty by Betsy Maestro Computers for Posttest Worksheet to write down Statue of Liberty facts. S.S. Notebook Jing on Wiki Objectives: Students will identify facts about the Statue of Liberty. Students will listen to a story and determine important facts from the story. Students will add facts to their Famous Landmarks book. The Post-test is on the class wiki under Famous Landmarks Resources.
