The Environment of Olhão

Farol Island Farol Island is in Ria Formosa. The lighthouse of Cabo de Santa Maria was built in 1851. Despite the difficulties it was the first lighthouse to get a 2nd order Fresnel lens device(focal distance – 700 mm).

Armona island, near Olhão, is a part of the Ria Formosa Natural Park.
