British towns and cities have a lot of similar things British towns and cities have a lot of similar things. The towns were built near to each other on the small territory. That’s why Englishmen like a privacy life and don’t like big cities-megalopolises. There are different sights and historical monuments in every town. All of them are famous for something.

Wales. Wales is the smallest city in England. It is situated in the county of Somerset and is famous for its Gothic cathedral. For this cathedral Wales got the status of "city" in 1974.The population of Wales is only 1205 people. The streets are empty. The city can get around just a some hours. So it is really tiny.

Some worlds about the houses of Wales Some worlds about the houses of Wales. There are few houses in this city. Rather rich people live there. In every house you can see the garden and a lot of rose bushes. Wells is not only famous for its ancient buildings, but also the nature.

Lincoln. Lincoln is the main town of England. It is situated on the river ‘Witham'. There you can find the great Cathedral(the second largest).It is the most beautiful in England; was built in XI-XIV centuries. There are a lot of monuments inside the cathedral.

Chester. Chester is the medieval town, but some of the buildings in it belongs to the Victorian era. On the streets you can see the different cultures belonging to different shelters. Many monuments and historical sights are stored in a memory of the old times. The first thing that attracts tourists is the ancient wall with watchtowers. One of the most famous towers is the tower of King Charles.

Stratford-upon-Avon. It's not a big town in England. Stratford-upon-Avon is situated in the county of Warwickshire, on the banks of the River Avon. The population is about 24 thousand people. This is an old city. It takes its name from the old English word - Street and Ford.

York. York is very beautiful town. It is famous for its cathedral. In addition, New York is known for its extensive network of bicycle routes, so that the adherents of a healthy lifestyle can spend the time usefully.

Sheffield. Sheffield is the ‘green’ town. It has more than two million trees, for what it called the largest of the English countryside.

Bristol. Lovers sights worth paying attention to held in the Bristol Balloon Festival. The city's name means "the place at the bridge." Bristol today is a major port and an important cultural center in England. Bristol Cathedral is the main attraction of the city. Also worth visiting is the church of St. Mary Redcliffe (the tallest building in the city) and Clifton Suspension Bridge.

St David's. St David's is an old town of England. The population is about two thousand people. St David’s famous for ancient monastery, the medieval church and the burial place of Saint David. The city has also preserved city gate of the XIII century, the ruins of the episcopal residence of the XIV century and ancient stone Celtic cross.

Winchester. Winchester is the small town. Now the town attracts travelers which like ancient history. Big Winchester Cathedral is the oldest cathedral of Winchester.(Winchester Castle was built in the beginning of XI century on the orders of King William.)

Falmouth. Falmouth is the seaside town, with its five sandy beaches, is one of the most popular resorts in southern England. Falmouth Harbour is also famous for its natural harbor, which is the third largest in the world. In 2003 Falmouth opened the National Maritime Museum Cornwall.

Baht. Baht is one of the most beautiful historic cities in England. Baht boasts its university, the river that runs through the central part, and numerous channels, has already become a landmark independent.

Ballymena Ballymena is a large city district Ballymena, the capital of the district, located in County Antrim Northern Ireland.

Bangor Bangor is a town in Wales, in the County of Gwynedd. It is located off the coast of the Irish sea.Bangor was founded in the 6th century by Daniela of Wales. The first was laid Bangor Cathedral. The bishopric of Bangor is one of the oldest in the UK. The first building of the Cathedral are preserved - it was burnt down in 1402 during the uprising of Oina of Glyndwr, and the current building was built in the late 15th - early 16th centuries

Blackpool Blackpool is a coastal city and one of the oldest resorts in the UK. It is located on the territory of the County of Lancashire, on the Irish sea coast. The city's population is approx. 140 thousand people. Blackpool - famous resort and is considered the first electrified city in the UK, so many sites are connected with electricity.

Gloucester Gloucester is an English city with the status of "city" in the center of the ceremonial and lemetropole Gloucestershire. The city is transformed into a district of the city-County during the administrative reforms of 1974. On the territory of the city is home to 110 thousand inhabitants.

Bradford The city of Bradford is one of the oldest cities in the UK - located in the County of West Yorkshire, England. The city was founded during the reign of the Anglo-Saxons, after the complete destruction of the city during the Norman invasion, Bradford was rebuilt.

Wolverhampton Wolverhampton is a city in England, located in the North-West of the ceremonial County of West Midlands. On the territory of the city live 236,5 million people.

Eastbourne Eastbourne is a large town and one of the favorite destinations of sea bathing in England in the County of East Sussex, in La Manche.

Ely Ely is a Cathedral city in England (population 15 102 - 2001), set in the East Cambridgeshire (Cambridgeshire is located in the East of England), 23 km North-East of Cambridge.
