Expedition meals Pack as much energy (calories) in the least weight and volume as possible Breakfast Start the day with a substantial breakfast and a hot drink. This can include cereals, muesli, porridge, noodles or even a full English Lunch   This might consist of sandwiches, pitta bread or wraps Other high energy foods like flapjacks, cereal bars, nuts, dried fruit, biscuits, chocolate bars, dried sweets, jelly, mint cake and so on. Evening meal Soup, curry, stews, pasta, bangers Hot or cold pudding e.g. chocolate cake or crumble and custard.

DO NOT BRING POT NOODLES What are the advantages of ready-made outdoor meals? Having a good meal to look forward to at the end of an expedition day is a great motivation boost, particularly if it is raining. Ready to eat straight from the packs, hot or cold. Fast cooking time. No refrigeration required. Light and easy to carry. High calorie content for replacing used energy. Wide range of meals you could not otherwise have.  DO NOT BRING POT NOODLES – THESE ARE BANNED!!

PLEASE do not bring… Cigarettes / e-cigarettes Alcohol Drugs Knife i-Pod or other devices for listening to music Normal ‘school trip rules’ apply – as do the sanctions for breach of these.

Kit Allocation Tent (3 or 2 person) Trangia stove (1 between 3) Meths bottle (1 per team) First Aid kit (1 per team) Whistle (1 per team) Route map and OS map (2 per team) Compass (2 per team) Survival Bag
