V6 19.12.2016 How to Read a Kit Label
Introduction The coloured kit labels aim to increase the efficiency of kit handling during emergencies, by ensuring that kits are easily distinguished and distributed in a timely and efficient manner so that children receive life-saving supplies. This guide was created to offer support to field and logistic colleagues to familiarize them to the new kit labels. • Each emergency kit family is represented by a bright colour • Kit modules within a kit family are distinguished by a symbol, which can be used to match the different parts of kits • The part number e.g. 1/3 and kit name are in a much larger font, therefore easier to identify Please note that similar kit modules such as “renewables”, can be found in the Interagency Emergency Health (green), Obstetric (yellow) and Midwifery (blue) kit indicated with the following symbol: . The symbols on kit modules are there to support with improved identification of kits. Examples: The following pages illustrate the various kit families and kit modules within each family with their respective material number and a corresponding symbol.
