How to Setup Comms between an EPC3000 and a PC, so that iTools can be used for configuration Comms between a PC and an EPC3000 can be established via the RS485 port, the optional Configuration clip, or the optional Ethernet port If the configuration clip is purchased, the EPC3000 can be connected to a PC simply by connecting the configuration clip into the side of the EPC3000 and the USB port on the PC. This has the added advantage of powering the EPC3000 too. If Ethernet is used, the EPC3000 needs to have an IP address configured. How to set up an IP address in the EPC3000 via iTools You need to have already established comms between the EPC3000and the PC before the IP address can be altered via iTools. The default address of the EPC3000 is 192.168.111.222 If this is entered into the iTools applet on the Control Panel via the Add feature, iTools will be able to SCAN and find the EPC3000, when the Ethernet is connected The name you enter is your choice – the example shows EPC3000.
