To store metadata inside the FedEO Collection catalog, you can use the RESTful “post” and provide metadata in ISO 19139 (gmd) or ISO 19139-2 (gmi).  Internally in the FedEO catalog, these are stored in ISO 19139-2 (gmi) format (the richest of the two).
