Volunteers and Visitors

Attendance and Truancy Students should not miss more than ten days of school during the school year. A parent or guardian should telephone the school by 8:50 AM to report an absence. 838-1331 (Option 5 for Lingle/Select #1) A note from a parent/guardian is still required upon the student's return to school. Lack of parental note within three days will cause the absence to be defined as an unlawful absence. Absences for student illness, death in the family, and religious holidays are excusable.

Excessive Absences If a student is absent three or more consecutive days, a doctor's note is required. A student who is absent ten days will receive a letter of notification. Doctor’s notes are required after ten days of absence. A student who has accumulated three unlawful days will receive a letter of notification. Further unlawful absences will result in the formulation of a School Attendance Improvement Plan (SAIP) and could result in fines/citation of the parent or guardian.

Educational Trips Requests for educational trips must be submitted to the office at least 3 days prior to the day of the trip and must be submitted on the appropriate trip excusal form. Educational trip forms are available on the school website or in the school office. Students are responsible for any assigned/missed work. No educational trips will be approved during PSSA testing. Refer to district calendar for dates.
