The Feast of Trumpets (Rosh Hashanah) is a wakeup call to repent

The Feast of Trumpets begins the Days of Awe – the 10 days leading up to the Day of Atonement

then come and offer your gift. If you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother or sister has something against you, leave your gift there in front of the altar. First go and be reconciled to them; then come and offer your gift. Matthew 5:23-24 (NLT)

How does this feast point us to Jesus and his return?

It points us to the day when God himself will blow the shofar.

Zechariah 9:14 (NLT) The Lord will appear above his people; his arrows will fly like lightning! The Sovereign Lord will sound the ram’s horn and attack like a whirlwind from the southern desert. The Lord of Heaven’s Armies will protect his people. Zechariah 9:14 (NLT)

On that day, all of God’s people will be raptured up to meet him in the sky.
