Pregnancy Pregnancy is 40 weeks Full term is considered anything after 37 weeks Premature “Preemie” baby is 28- 36 weeks Micro-Preemie baby born 28 weeks weighing less than 2 pounds Late term: anything after 41 weeks Weight gain: 25-35 pounds 3 trimesters Labor time: ~14 hours

Terms Conception: fertilization of egg cell Implantation: fertilized egg attaching to the uterine wall Fertilization: union of the egg and sperm cell Menopause: woman stops get her menstrual period Fetus: after 8 weeks of conception; unborn baby; looks more like a human Embryo: 2- 8 weeks after conception; does not look like a human yet Placenta: Organ that female body produces during pregnancy; babies food and oxygen source Ultrasound: image of baby in the womb
