How to find parts of sentences! Dad bought me ice cream. Direct Object = subject + predicate who or what Dad bought ice cream Indirect Object = Subj. + Pred. + Dir. Obj. for whom or what Dad bought ice cream for me Note: The indirect object is usually a noun or pronoun that comes after the predicate, and before the direct object.
