Colours, colours Polly Stubbs

Colours, colours all around me, Lots of things to see and hear. I can use my eyes, my nose and mouth, I can feel with my hands And hear with my ears.

What’s this? It’s red! What can it be? It smells as sweet as can be! I put it to my nose and… Sniff, sniff, sniff It’s a ripe red strawberry!

What’s this? Three colours! Grey, black, white They clatter and jangle for me I listen with my ears and… Clink, clink, clink Some small cold stones I see!

Colours, colours all around me, Lots of things to see and hear. I can use my eyes, my nose and mouth, I can feel with my hands And hear with my ears.

What’s this? It’s yellow! What can it be? It looks so bright to me! I look at it and… Blink, blink, blink, Some lovely bright sunshine for me!

What’s this? It’s white! What can it be? It feels so gentle to me I hold it to my face and… Squidge, squidge, squidge Some fluffy white clouds I can feel!

What’s this? It’s black What can it be? It smells like lumps of cheese! I hold in my hand and… Sniff, sniff, sniff Some black socks that make me sneeze!

What’s this? It’s Gold! What can it be? It sounds very pretty to me I listen with my ears and… Ding, ding, ding Some golden bells chime for me!

What’s this? It’s orange What can it be? It smells delicious to me! I hold it in my hand and… Squeeze, squeeze, squeeze A juicy ripe orange to eat!

Smells, Bells and Vision! Strawberry (T/Sm/Ta Body butter/hand lotion/spray/the real thing (dep on allergies) Orange T/Sm/Ta Body butters/hand lotion/spray/the real thing (dep on allegies) Smelly Socks Sm/T/V – Put anything in the sock that you think would illicit a good reaction from the listeners!; piece of cheese/joss stick/soap. Water- T/V Supermarkets always have a range of oils; you can also fill a spray bottle with water! Grass T/V/Sm Blades of grass/astro turf/ spray bottle. Sun V/T Yellow ribbon/ scarf/umbrella/ material. Cloud T/V Cotton wool pads/ pillow stuffing/white material. Pebbles T/V/So Array of white, grey & black pebbles of varying sizes. Branch T/V/Sm Branches from your garden, without anything too spiky. Bell V/So Hand bells, string of decorative bells, any kind of bells! Spray Bottles When you buy oil or home fragrances, adding it to a spray bottle of water makes it last much longer. Always “warn” that you are either going to spray over their heads. If this will be upsetting, spray it nearer to yourself & invite them to come over but don’t make it compulsory. General Use of equipment Always check before you use any items for allergies. Also, reassure again about joining in. Before you do something, ie wave a piece of material, introduce what you are doing so as to ready any students who are nervous.
