Overview on FG Cloud activity Objective: to collect and document information and concepts that would be helpful for developing ITU-T Recommendations to support cloud computing services/applications from a telecommunication/ICT perspective Management team: Chairman: Victor Kutukov Stack Soft (Russia) Vice-Chairmen: Jamil Chawki France Telecom Orange, (France) Kangchan Lee ETRI, (Korea) Mingdong Li ZTE, (China) Monique Morrow Cisco Systems, (USA) Koji Nakao KDDI, (Japan) Olivier Colas Microsoft, (Canada) The FGCC Started in June 2010. Structure: 2 Working Groups WG1: Cloud computing benefits & requirements WG2: Gap Analysis & Roadmap on Cloud Standards development in ITU-T 7 meetings were held; around 50 attendees in each 400 contributions were submitted

FGCC deliverables and SDO’s liaisons 7 deliverables are planned to be finalized next December and presented the 9th of January 2012. Overview of SDO Cloud Ecosystem Reference Architecture Resource Management Requirements and framework architecture of cloud infrastructure Security Benefit Many liaisons were established with main SDO GICTF (Global Inter-Cloud Technology Forum) , active contribution and participation CSA participation to FG meeting DMTF participation to FG meeting ISO/IEC JTC1/SC38: a Joint meeting with was held last September ISO/IEC JTC1/SC27

Cloud Ecosystem Definition of Cloud Computing based on NIST work and enhanced via consideration of a telecommunication approach. 5 essential characteristics, 5 categories (CaaS, SaaS, PaaS, IaaS and NaaS) 4 major models. The global cloud ecosystem description Use cases according to 3 categories: from the Cloud Service Users and Cloud Service Providers perspective, from the Inter Cloud perspective, from the Service Partners perspective. Functional requirements and Capabilities

Joint meeting with JTC1/SC38 Conclusion It is needed to have common standards in area of Cloud Computing to avoid confusion for the industry. It is necessary to collaborate in order to develop common understanding and baseline (fundamental) standards, including for definitions/terminology and reference architecture. It is a little early to decide joint standard topics and it is needed to have deeper consideration including collaboration items and relevant methodology in each SDO first. Both SDOs agreed to continue to seek the possible future collaboration items through the liaison officer for the time being.

GSC- 15 Resolution 32 on cloud Computing Reaffirmation International standards can play a significant role in facilitating the success of Cloud Computing as a vehicle for global economic growth by establishing standards setting agendas directed at satisfying the following principles: Global Inclusion Interoperability Security and Privacy Data Invite the GSC Members to collaborate amongst themselves and with other international organizations to advance standardization in the important subject of Cloud Computing. FG Cloud work integrates the convergence between Telecommunication and IT. FG Cloud thinks that a major achievement and would like to invite the GSC Members to consider this approach for their work and collaboration.
