EVOLVING VISUAL NEEDS

Modern Vision Requires a Modern Solution Technology has changed the way we interact with the world and the way we use our eyes 69% of adults use a smartphone compared with 45% only 3 years ago* *The Vision Council, “Hindsight is 20/20/20: Protect Your Eyes from Digital Devices 2015 Digital Eye Strain Report,” 2015

Today, our eyes are expected to perform for longer periods of time in the near zone. This expectation has created 2 problems: Digital Eye Strain A physical discomfort felt after 2+ hours in front of a digital screen Over 90% of adults spend over 2 hrs/day on digital devices* Increased Exposure to Harmful Blue Light* 73% of adults are unaware of the potential dangers of Blue Light to their eyes* Harmful Blue Light has been linked to retinal disorders such as AMD** *The Vision Council, “Hindsight is 20/20/20: Protect Your Eyes from Digital Devices 2015 Digital Eye Strain Report,” 2015 **Arnault E. Barrau C, Nanteau C. Gondouin P, Bigot K, et al. “Phototoxic Action Spectrum on a Retinal Pigment Epithelium Model of Age-Related Macular Degeneration Exposed to Sunlight Normalized Conditions.” PLoS ONE 8(*); e71398.doi:10.1371398.August 23,2013.

Digital Eye Strain is the New Normal Single vision patients today believe eye strain is just a part of their life The Vision Council, “Eyes Overexposed: The Digital Device Dilemma Digital Eye Strain Report,” 2016

THE SOLUTION: EYEZEN™+ ENHANCED SINGLE VISION LENSES

EYEZEN™+ ENHANCED SINGLE VISION LENSES NEW Eyezen+ lenses are an enhanced, everyday pair of single vision lenses that provide a more complete solution than ordinary single vision lenses TWO MAJOR PATIENT BENEFITS:  Defends against digital eye strain  Reduces exposure to Harmful Blue Light

BENEFIT #1: Defends Against Digital Eye Strain  When focusing on close objects, the eyes accommodate (ciliary eye muscles contract); prolonged “flexing” of those muscles leads to eye strain  The unique Eyezen+ design provides a small amount of accommodative relief to help alleviate digital eye strain

BENEFIT # 2: Reduces Exposure to Harmful Blue Light Eyezen+ lenses utilize the Smart Blue Filter™ feature Clear in color & appearance Blocks Harmful Blue Light* Combine with Crizal® for the most comprehensive eye protection Now the 2nd benefit of Eyezen+ lenses is the protection from harmful Blue Light. All Eyezen+ lens products utilize the Smart Blue Filter feature to block at least 20% of harmful Blue Light. And the Smart Blue Filter feature allows clear Eyezen+ lenses to be clear in color and appearance (no residual tint or hue). This also means that you can combine Eyezen+ lenses with any AR that a patient chooses. And if you combine Eyezen+ with Crizal Prevencia you’re going to increase that ability to block harmful Blue Light from at least 20% to 30%. *Eyezen+ lenses block at least 20% of Harmful Blue Light, which is the high energy waves found between 415–455nm (blue-violet light).

RECOMMENDING EYEZEN+ TO YOUR PATIENTS

Three Eyezen™+ Designs Based On Patient’s Age Ages 18 - 34 Eyezen+ 2 (0.6D) Ages 35 - 44 Eyezen+ 3 (0.85D) Ages 45 - 50* AGE 18 AGE 50 A Patient’s age will determine which design is right for them  Eyezen+ lenses are digitally surfaced  3 unique Eyezen+ designs are available  The difference in each design is the amount of accommodative relief the patient will receive *It is recommended that you consider progressive lenses for your patients age 45+.

Are You Discussing Digital Eye Strain? 90% of patients do not talk with their eye care provider about digital device usage* Digital eye strain and Harmful Blue Light should be addressed with all single vision patients Ask Questions to uncover unmet patient needs: How many hours a day do you spend on digital devices? (computer, smartphone, iPad, reading, watching TV, or playing video games) How do your eyes feel at the end of the day? (rubbing eyes, aching eyes, burning, redness, headaches) Do you find yourself looking at your phone before bed? *The Vision Council, “Eyes Overexposed: The Digital Device Dilemma Digital Eye Strain Report,” 2016

Eyezen™+ What % of your single vision patients would benefit from reduction of digital eye strain and protection from Harmful Blue Light?

FITTING AND ORDERING

Dispensing is Simple Fit and order like traditional single vision lenses Just include the fitting height too – that’s it! Fitting Height: Simply measure from the center of the pupil to the lowest point of the lens Recommended minimum fitting height is 15mm

Ordering Eyezen™+ Lenses The following info should be sent to your lab: Distance Rx Monocular Distance PDs Fitting Height Note: In Eyefinity, this is called the Optical Center Height 4. Material and treatment Combine with Crizal® for the most comprehensive eye protection
