LO: Predict the next part of a story Sunday 4th September LO: Predict the next part of a story

Success Criteria I can begin to make predictions with support. I can predict what might happen next in a story, using clues in the text. I can write the next part of a story, using my predicition.

What/Who is Peter Pan? What can you see on the cover? What do you think might happen in the story?

What could this tell us about what might happen in the story? Chapter 1 All children, except one, grow up. They soon know they will grow up, and the way Wendy knew was this. One day when she was two years old she was playing in a garden, and she plucked another flower and ran with it to her mother. I suppose she must have looked rather delightful, for Mrs Darling put her hand to her heart and cried, “Oh, why can’t you remain like this for ever!” This was all that passed between them on the subject, but henceforth Wendy knew that she must grow up. You always know after you are two. Two is the beginning of the end.

Tasks Green – Complete prediction worksheet Yellow – Working with teacher. Blue – Write a detailed description of what you think will happen next in the story, using the prediction dice to help you e.g. I think _____________ will happen because ________ ____________________________________________. Green – Write what you think the next paragraph of the story is – imagine you are the author!

Monday 5th September LO: Summarise an extract from Peter Pan

Tasks Green – Working with the teacher Yellow and Blue – Working together, you are going to use the summarising game to answer questions about what just happened in this extract. Green – Use bullet points to summarise what happened
