LONDON | London Bridge Tower (The Shard) 1014ft | 73 floors Shard London Bridge (previously known as London Bridge Tower,[4][5] and also known as the Shard of Glass,[6][7] 32 London Bridge, and The Shard) is a pyramid-shaped skyscraper under construction in Southwark, London which in December 2011 became the tallest building in the European Union. When completed in May 2012, it will stand at 310 m (1,017 ft) tall. It will also be the second-tallest free-standing structure in the United Kingdom, after the 330 m (1,083 ft) LONDON | London Bridge Tower (The Shard) 1014ft | 73 floors

Construction workers scaled the top of The Shard, London's latest landmark, on 2/4/12, putting in place some of the final pieces of the giant construction. Europe's highest tower is being built close to Tower Bridge and will rise to a height of 310 metres (1,017ft) when complete. The building, which already dominates the capital's historic skyline, has been built at a cost of more than £450m, and will be divided between residential accommodation and office space.
